Head and neck cancer is a disease in which cancer begins in certain types of cells in your mouth, nose, sinuses, throat, or salivary glands. The head and neck region includes the nose, sinuses, mouth, jawbones, and the area behind the nose and under the chin. It can be caused by a number of factors including genetics, lifestyle habits, tobacco use, and alcohol consumption. Treatment options include surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.

Oral cancer includes cancers of the mouth and the back of the throat. Oral cancers develop on the tongue, the tissue lining the mouth and gums, under the tongue, at the base of the tongue, and the area of the throat at the back of the mouth
